Ganesha
Mangalmurti
Mangalmurti- Acrylic On Canvas
‘Om’ is a mystical or sacred syllable in the Indian religions. It is also known as ‘God’s own voice’ in the puranas. It is considered sacred and auspicious and it marks the beginning of most Hindu texts, vedas and mantras.
Ganesha on the other hand is called the Lord of Beginnings and also the called the Obstacle Remover or Vighna Nashaka. Lord Ganesha is worhipped for having to good start to some work.
A closer look at the Ganesha form in the painting will reveal that it is the letter in Devanagari script that has taken the shape of Lord Ganesha. So the painting reflects the sacred conglomerate of auspiciousness, well-being, happiness and bliss. And hence the name ‘Mangalmurti’ which mean the Auspicious Lord.
The three points of the Trishul is symbolic of the past, present and future. And the Trishul is representative of the fact that Lord Ganesha has control over these.
The bright colours in the back ground are symbolic of happiness associated with the worship of Lord Ganesha and the fulfillment of all wishes.
